Blade Runner 2099 Sets November Prime Video Premiere Date, Debuts First Trailer at Comic-Con

Prime Video will release its new limited series Blade Runner 2099 on November 25, according to Deadline. The streaming service announced the premiere date and debuted the first trailer at Comic-Con on Friday morning.
The series, which takes place 50 years after the 2017 film Blade Runner 2049, stars Hunter Schafer as Cora, a human fugitive who takes on the identity of a Blade Runner. She is forced to partner with Olwen, played by Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, a Replicant nearing the end of her life.
The trailer, shown in Hall H, features the dystopian, flying-car production design associated with the franchise. A key line from Schafer's character asks, "Replicants, they keep taking it all away." The footage sets up a world where the war between humans and synthetic Replicants continues, with Cora hunting a runaway whose secret could destroy their fragile city.
Series regulars include Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben. Recurring guest stars are Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, and Maurizio Lombardi.
Ridley Scott serves as an executive producer. The series is produced by Alcon Entertainment, which owns the Blade Runner intellectual property. Showrunner and executive producer Silka Luisa appeared at the Hall H panel alongside stars Yeoh and Schafer, and Alcon co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson. Jonathan van Tulleken directed the first two episodes and is also an executive producer.
The series will be available in 240 countries and territories on Prime Video.
