Chloë Sevigny's Son Vanja Is Already a Red Carpet Pro (And a Fashion Critic)

What does a 6-year-old want for a night out? According to Chloë Sevigny, the answer is a red carpet, all-black attire, and maybe a gold chain.

The actress shared the sweet story behind her son Vanja's recent red carpet debut at the premiere of her new Peacock series, Five Star Weekend. In an exclusive interview with E! News, Sevigny admitted she initially hesitated. "I was like, ‘I shouldn’t bring him on a carpet,’" she told E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes. "But he wouldn’t take no for an answer."

Vanja, whom Sevigny shares with boyfriend Sinisa Mackovic, didn't just show up—he arrived with a budding sense of style. The 51-year-old actress mused that her son is just beginning to follow in her fashion footsteps. "He’s like, ‘I want to wear all black. I want a gold chain. I want certain sunglasses.’ At first it was kind of a ninja thing but now it’s translating into something else. I think he gets a lot of attention for it."

Sevigny joked that seeing her son so fashion-conscious at a young age is "wild," adding, "I’m like, ‘Uh oh. Trouble.’"

The premiere itself was a stylish affair. Sevigny wore a pale yellow gown with white draping, a long train, and a thigh slit, which she called "so gorgeous." Her co-stars Jennifer Garner, Gemma Chan, and D’arcy Carden also wore pastel looks. As the Kids star put it, "We just wanted to capture a beautiful sunset in the mirage of gowns."

The event celebrated the launch of the Peacock series Five Star Weekend, which premiered on July 9. The drama, based on the Elin Hilderbrand novel, follows a group of women who unite for a weekend to support a friend grieving her husband's death. Sevigny spoke glowingly of the core cast. She reportedly shared, "I mean, we all fell in love. It was instantaneous. Everyone was really open and there was a real connection and it felt really deep and really real and true." She added, "We all respected each other so much and made each other laugh and cry—just like the show."
