Bateman credited his wife, Amanda Anka, with helping him turn a corner. He described "a few negotiations" about his drinking because of how "unpredictable" he could become. "Fortunately, I was living at a time without social media and camera phones," he said, "so I got away with a lot, but it was definitely close a few times."
