Leven Rambin Details Terrifying Surgery Complication

What happens when a routine surgery goes shockingly wrong? Actress Leven Rambin is sharing the terrifying answer from her hospital bed.

The story broke when Rambin posted a series of videos on TikTok and Instagram, detailing a severe complication during what was supposed to be a standard procedure. According to E! News, the actress revealed she went in for a routine laparoscopy to treat endometriosis.

"I went in for a routine endo laparoscopy," Rambin wrote in a July 10 TikTok video. "I had a Netflix job I needed to be at in 2 weeks and my doc said I would be fine. I woke up after surgery to many doctors and surgeons telling me they 'saved my life' after the dr accidentally KNICKED [sic] my aorta."

The actress confirmed the medical team acted immediately. "They immediately performed repair surgery and [a] blood transfusion," she wrote, adding, "I'm on every med under the sun. My mom flew in."

In a follow-up video, Rambin described confronting the surgeon upon waking. "The first thing I said to her, through my anesthesia, was, 'Is this your fault?'" she recalled. "She said, 'Yes, it's my fault.' I said, 'Aren’t you a specialist?' And she said, 'I'm human.'"

Despite the anger and trauma, Rambin acknowledged the rarity of the event. "I'm pissed, obviously, but I understand it was a 'risk' like anything," she admitted. "It was a one-in-a-million 'freak accident.'"

She has been documenting her recovery, showing herself walking hospital hallways just days later. "Why yes, I am up and walking after this crazy traumatic surgery," she shared in a July 12 TikTok. "They told me that’s the best thing for healing, and I'm a f--king bad b---h. I’m not gonna sit there and cry, although I have been crying. I think the reality is starting to hit me of what happened."

The complication forced Rambin to withdraw from an upcoming Netflix series she was set to star in. However, the initial surgery did confirm a diagnosis of stage 1 endometriosis and polyps.
