Lucy Hale Announces Father's Death in Heartbreaking Tribute

Actress Lucy Hale announced the death of her father, Preston Hale, in an Instagram post on Monday, July 20. The 37-year-old Pretty Little Liars star shared the news in a lengthy tribute, per Just Jared.

"I can’t believe I’m writing this, but my sweet daddy suddenly passed away on Friday," she wrote. Hale described her father as a man who adored his family and his career in farming. "My dad was mind-numbingly funny, sensitive, and deeply kind," she continued.

Preston Hale was from Milan, Tennessee, and was survived by his wife Stacy, his daughters, and grandchildren. Lucy Hale noted his love for fishing, hunting, golfing, and farming, calling him "a true Southern man." She also reflected on their close bond. "And he unconditionally loved me and my sister. He never judged," she added.

In a poignant detail, Hale revealed her older sister was visiting her when they received the call about their father's passing. She called her sister's presence a "parting gift" from their dad.
