Why Won't Priscilla Presley's Son Just Ask Mom for Pizza Money?
Navarone Garibaldi Garcia is defending his GoFundMe for a driveway pizza biz, and he has a message for the haters.

What do you do when you need a pizza oven but your budget is tight? If you're Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, you launch a GoFundMe—and then get ready to defend it.
The musician, who is the son of Priscilla Presley, took to Instagram on Friday to address critics questioning why he was crowdfunding $5,500 to start an "affordable organic pizza" business from his driveway instead of asking his famous mother for the cash, according to Page Six.
"Haters gonna hate," Garcia, 39, wrote in the comments of his original video. "I’m sure I’ll have to explain this many more times to ignorant people who think I should ‘ask my mom’ or that I have money … YEAH, I also have a lot of bills, I also have a budget."
He explained his financial calculus in detail. The frontman for the band Them Guns stated the money would cover a conventional pizza oven, and that he's already contributing "a lot" of his own funds.
"I’m not asking [anyone] to donate that can’t afford to," he added, noting he's "offering free pizza to people that donate."
Garcia framed the ask as a practical step toward a long-held dream, writing, "I have always wanted to start my own business, but marketing and advertising always get in my way." He said the "pizza dough and sauces already sourced. It’s just buying the oven that I need to get me started."
His final plea was simple: "Just asking for help on the remaining bit that’s out of my budget. That’s all. Love and Peace, Kindness and pizza."
The episode highlights the unique scrutiny faced by children of celebrities when they pursue ordinary ventures. While Garcia's musical career with Them Guns has been his primary public pursuit, this foray into driveway pizza-making has sparked a very public conversation about privilege, budgeting, and whether it's ever okay to ask the internet for a little dough.
