Damon, who plays the legendary hero Odysseus, was quick with praise, telling Holland, "Yep. Good answer." The moment came as the couple juggled a busy press tour for two films.

On Friday, July 16, 2026—the night before The Odyssey opened nationwide—Holland and Zendaya were spotted on separate outings in New York before reuniting for a date night. They attended the Gold House x OpenTable dinner at the Japanese restaurant Wokuni, where Zendaya wore a sleek black wrap dress and Holland opted for a navy sweater and jeans, per Geo.tv.

The Wired interview also featured a more serious question about the film's plot. When asked "Why does Athena choose Odysseus?" Damon carefully avoided spoilers. "This is difficult in the context of our movie without giving things away. Because does Athena choose Odysseus or does Odysseus choose Athena?" he replied, according to the report.

Sweet Support Behind the Scenes

Zendaya has shared her own affectionate behind-the-scenes story from the film. Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she revealed she initially thought only Holland had been cast. He later encouraged her to revisit the script with the goddess Athena in mind, a suggestion that led to her landing the role. “I mean, he’s the best, and he deserves this,” she said of Holland's involvement.

In the film, Zendaya plays Athena, the goddess who guides Odysseus. Holland plays Telemachus, Odysseus' son. Hathaway portrays Penelope, and Pattinson appears as Antinous. The couple will reunite on screen again later in July 2026 in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
