Travis Scott Admits He Was 'Nervous as F' Acting in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'

Travis Scott revealed he was nervous acting in Christopher Nolan’s new film “The Odyssey” during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The rapper plays Demodocus, the bard who narrates Odysseus’ journey in the film’s opening scene.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott recalled receiving a surprise phone call from Nolan asking if he’d be interested in acting. “My phone went off and it just said, ‘Chris,’” Scott said. “So I pick up and he’s like, ‘Would you be interested in acting in a movie?’ And I’m like, ‘I mean, I guess, you know? What’s the [role]?’”

What role does Travis Scott play?

Scott plays Demodocus, the bard who narrates the opening scene and is the first voice and face audiences see in the film. He admitted to initial apprehension about the role. “I was actually nervous as ‘F,’” Scott said, explaining he assumed his scenes would be with extras. “I didn’t know that it was going to be Anne Hathaway, Tom [Holland] and Robert Pattinson — a bunch of amazing people.”

Did he contribute music to the film?

In addition to acting, Scott recorded the original song “When I’m Home” for the film’s closing credits alongside James Blake, with production from the film’s composer Ludwig Göransson. Nolan is credited as a co-writer on the track. Scott and Nolan previously collaborated on the soundtrack for Nolan’s 2020 film “Tenet.”

Scott praised Nolan and the cast for making the experience comfortable. “Everybody made me feel comfortable. I was just glad to be there and just watch him,” he said. “The Odyssey” is now playing in theaters.
