Marc Maron Starrer 'In Memoriam' to Open 11th Annual Indie Street Film Festival

What is the opening night film?

The festival will kick off with the New Jersey premiere of "In Memoriam," starring Marc Maron. The film, directed by New Jersey native Rob Burnett, will screen with a Q&A session.

What is the closing night film?

The weeklong event will conclude with another New Jersey premiere: "Union County," starring Will Poulter and Noah Centineo. Adam Meeks directed the closing night selection.

Other narrative features receiving New Jersey premieres in competition include Charlotte Glynn’s "The Gymnast," Danny Madden’s "Downbeat," and Walter Thompson-Hernández’s "If I Go Will They Miss Me." Feature documentaries in competition include Seth Porges’ "Santacon"; Shalon Buskirk and Drew Swedberg’s "in love, in memory"; Gabriela Díaz Arp’s "Matininó"; Amber Love’s "One Another"; and Kaitlyn Schwalje and Alex Wolf Lewis’ "Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong."

Artistic director Allyson Morgan said of the selections, “Once again, the films that we’re sharing this year moved us, challenged us, and delighted us, and we’re thrilled to bring these exciting independent voices to the Red Bank community.”

Executive director and festival founder Jay Webb highlighted the event's decade-long mission. “For the past 10 years, Indie Street has shown that storytelling is most powerful when experienced together,” Webb said. He noted that many official selections have gone on to major recognition, citing last year’s jury award winner "Mr. Nobody Against Putin," which later won an Oscar.

A jury including filmmaker Alex Megaro, POV’s Cayla Clements, and Tribeca Festival’s Tiana Harris will select this year’s winners.
