Morenike Joela Evans Signs On To Direct Body-Swap Rom-Com 'Switch'

Veteran TV director Morenike Joela Evans has signed on to direct the feature romantic comedy "Switch," according to Deadline. Alexis Louder is attached to star in and produce the film.

Evans brings a wealth of television experience to the project, with directing credits that include episodes of "Grey’s Anatomy," "iCarly," and "How I Met Your Father."

What is the plot of 'Switch'?

The film is described as a body-swap rom-com centered on a Black woman and a white man who have to walk a week in each other’s lives. Louder will play Imani, a Black elementary school teacher who butts heads with Ben, a white executive. The two wake up in each other's bodies after a mysterious escape room adventure.

According to a synopsis, the pair are forced to work together to find a way to switch back, overcoming assumptions about each other and learning from each other's perspective. The story suggests they may fall in love in the process.

Who is behind the film?

Bryan McClure, known for his work on "The Walking Dead" and "The Summer I Turned Pretty," originated the premise and brought the concept to Louder and scriptwriter Alix Reeves for development.
