‘Wicked’ Film to Get Special Live Orchestra Screening, Partnering With Justin Hurwitz

Universal Studios announced a special concert experience featuring the 2024 film Wicked accompanied by a live orchestra, according to a report from Billboard. The event, titled "Wicked in Concert: Film With Live Orchestra," was announced on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

It comes in partnership with La La Land composer and conductor Justin Hurwitz's company.

The news was shared on the franchise's official Instagram account and by Hurwitz Concerts. A promotional poster featured the hands of leading stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. The caption played on one of Grande's lines from the films: "Everyone, we have an announcement…"

Hurwitz's company has previously organized live orchestra-backed screenings for films like La La Land, Babylon, and Whiplash. For the Wicked films, the music was created by Stephen Schwartz, who worked with John Powell on the film adaptation of the Broadway score.
