Descendants: Wicked Wonderland Team Reveals Deleted Scenes, Hints at Red's Dad
Director Kimmy Gatewood and EP Suzanne Todd detail a cut scene with Pink and suggest a future movie could finally reveal the Queen of Hearts' mystery beau.

“Not to say that we only give the fans things that they want, but we try to give the fans things that they want,”
The creative team behind Descendants: Wicked Wonderland has answered some burning fan questions about the new film, according to TVLine. Director Kimmy Gatewood and executive producer Suzanne Todd discussed deleted scenes and potential future plot points in an interview.
What was cut from the movie?
Director Kimmy Gatewood confirmed a scene featuring Pink was removed from the final version. The moment would have shown Pink with Red and Chloe at the well when the pocket watch is dropped in. Gatewood explained the cut was made because the sisters' resolution had already been powerfully achieved through their song 'Who I Am.'
"When the movie was coming together, we realized that the sisters already had their resolution in a real way with their song 'Who I Am,'" Gatewood told TVLine. "I didn't want to step on that resolution by having another one with them."
Will Red's father be revealed?
One of the franchise's biggest mysteries is the identity of Red and Pink's father. While star Kylie Cantrall has been told the secret, it remains unknown to fans. Executive producer Suzanne Todd strongly hinted that a future installment could provide the answer.
"Not to say that we only give the fans things that they want, but we try to give the fans things that they want," Todd said. "I would put [Red and Pink's father] in that category, wouldn't you?"
Why did Red get a love interest?
Wicked Wonderland introduces a romantic storyline for Red, played by Kylie Cantrall, with Luis Madrigal (Alexandro Byrd).
"Having taken her on that journey through 'Rise of Red,' it felt like we had the space to allow yet another lane of things that are interesting to girls, which is having a little love in their lives," Todd said. The film is now streaming on Disney Plus and fuboTV.
