What is Season 4 based on?
The upcoming season is based directly on Anne Rice's third novel in The Vampire Chronicles, also called Queen of the Damned. In a statement, AMC Studios President Dan McDermott said the new season will see "our established and beloved characters confront Akasha with their world, and ours, very much hanging in the balance." He praised the current season, The Vampire Lestat, for its "unforgettable" and "propulsive storytelling."
How does this fit with the current season?
The Vampire Lestat is technically the third season of the Interview With the Vampire television series, rebranded to signify its adaptation of Rice's second novel. The season focuses on aspiring rock star Lestat, played by Sam Reid, as he gives an interview to journalist Daniel Molloy. The show first premiered in 2022, following the 1994 film adaptation starring Tom Cruise.
