Vincent D’Onofrio, Kate Mara, Clancy Brown, Thomas Sadoski, and Jason Schwartzman have joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming Las Vegas drama series The Roman, according to Variety. D’Onofrio and Mara have signed on as series regulars. Brown and Sadoski will appear in recurring roles, while Schwartzman is set for a guest-starring part.
D’Onofrio will play Dominic Ward, a powerful MMA mogul who uses his influence to manipulate casino bosses. Mara takes the role of Holly Reeve, a sophisticated entrepreneur who shares a complicated history with Isaac's character, Bobby Red. Brown is cast as Elwood, a weathered figure with deep knowledge of the city's secrets. Sadoski will portray Chef Luca, a brilliant but self-destructive superstar chef, and Schwartzman will appear as David Krupp, an heir in over his head with gambling debts.
The new additions join a previously announced ensemble that includes Oscar Isaac as casino president Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, David Costabile, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Jimmy O. Yang.
The Roman is created by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the team behind Billions. They will serve as writers, executive producers, and showrunners. Isaac executive produces alongside Martin Scorsese and Sikelia Productions. Director JC Chandor will helm the first two episodes and also executive produce.
